JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of the National Audit Office, invites applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill twenty-eight (28) vacancies as outlined in this announcement.

1.0 NATIONAL AUDIT OFFICE

Article 143 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, 1977, grants the Controller and Auditor General of the United Republic of Tanzania the responsibility of overseeing all public funds from the Central Government Treasury and auditing the revenues and expenditures of public resources, as approved by the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania.

To ensure that the Controller and Auditor General executes this constitutional role effectively, Section 20 of the Public Audit Act, Cap 418, establishes the National Audit Office led by the Controller and Auditor General. In performing these duties, the Controller and Auditor General ensures that the Constitution, Laws, Regulations, and Procedures are adhered to before authorizing funds to be released from the Treasury.

Section Four of the Public Audit Act mandates the Controller and Auditor General to utilize personnel from the National Audit Office to carry out various audits, including financial audits, compliance audits, performance audits, technical audits, investigative audits, and ICT systems audits.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not over 45 years, except for those currently employed in the public service.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must indicate their disability on the job application platform for the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat’s information.
iii. All applicants must attach a certified birth certificate signed by a lawyer.
iv. Applicants who are current public servants and wish to apply for positions outside their current field must obtain approval from their employers.
v. Applicants must attach a comprehensive CV with their contact details (phone number, email address) and names of three reliable referees.
vi. All applications must include academic certificates, verified by a lawyer, including the birth certificate, Form Four and Form Six certificates (for those with such qualifications), and any other professional qualifications in line with the job requirements.

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV & VI)
  • Computer Certificate
  • Professional certificates from relevant boards
    vii. “Testimonials”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of Results”, and Form IV and VI results slips will not be accepted.
    viii. Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure their certificates are verified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, NACTE).
    ix. Applicants who have retired from public service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
    x. Applicants currently employed in entry-level positions in public service are not eligible to apply and must adhere to the instructions provided in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November 2010.
    xi. Any applicant who submits fraudulent information will face legal action.
    xii. The deadline for submitting applications is 26th November 2024.
