Job Overview:
Helen Keller International is hiring a Finance Assistant to join its Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) Project Management Team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Finance Assistant will support budgeting, financial reporting, and database management, helping ensure the success of vital health programs aimed at eliminating preventable vision loss and malnutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Support: Review budgets prepared by country teams and provide consolidated feedback for improvement.
  • Forecast Support: Review and improve forecasts prepared by the regional program team.
  • Database Management: Update donation databases and maintain accurate records on budgeting processes.
  • Reporting: Assist in generating quarterly financial reports and donor reports.
  • Financial Coordination: Collaborate with the regional team to provide accurate and timely financial information.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field.
  • Professional experience in accounting and finance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables), with experience in Power BI being a plus.
  • Knowledge of Grants management is essential.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed work, prioritize, and maintain composure under pressure.
