Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is Tanzania’s largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services, committed to delivering accessible specialized healthcare across Africa. CCBRT works to prevent lifelong disabilities and enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families. Through extensive maternal and newborn healthcare activities, including obstetric fistula repairs, CCBRT continues to serve as a vital healthcare provider in the Dar es Salaam region and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead and oversee all procurement activities, ensuring that CCBRT’s operations are supported with high-quality goods and services purchased through transparent and cost-effective processes.

The Role
As the Head of Procurement, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for:

  • Leading the procurement department and ensuring the implementation of transparent, standardized, and ethical procurement practices.
  • Managing the purchasing of goods and services for CCBRT, ensuring value for money and adherence to ethical guidelines.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in procurement processes to make them more efficient without compromising quality.
  • Reviewing and revising current procurement policies and practices to align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), tracking performance, and initiating corrective actions where necessary.
  • Overseeing procurement planning for major projects and ensuring alignment with budget and organizational objectives.
  • Managing risk effectively through strong policies and controls.
  • Promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and impact in procurement processes.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a dynamic, strategic leader with:

  • A degree in Procurement or a related field, and registration with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technician Board (PSPTB).
  • A minimum of 8 years of extensive experience in the procurement sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in procurement within the health or NGO sector (preferred).
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • A good understanding of risk management and contract management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software such as SAP and strong IT skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in both English and Swahili with excellent communication skills.
