📌 Job Overview: Head of Program Development and Quality (PDQ)
Save the Children Tanzania is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and visionary leader to join its Senior Management Team (SMT) as the Head of Program Development and Quality. This leadership role is critical in shaping and steering the implementation of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) and ensuring the highest standards of program delivery, quality assurance, and evidence-based innovation across all thematic areas.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact, child-focused programs aligned with Save the Children’s global breakthroughs.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration in strategic planning, proposal development, and donor reporting.
- Oversee a strong Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system to ensure data-driven decision-making and accountability.
- Promote evidence-based programming by capturing learnings and best practices to inform both national and global strategies.
- Support fundraising by producing compelling concept notes and proposals in collaboration with technical and program teams.
- Represent Save the Children in national and international forums, advocating for child rights and protection policies.
- Manage and mentor a team of technical advisors and MEAL professionals to deliver excellence across programs.
✅ Qualifications and Skills Required
- Master’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, or related fields.
- At least 7-10 years of senior-level experience in program development, quality assurance, and MEAL in an international NGO setting.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in managing large donor-funded programs.
- Proven ability to develop partnerships, engage stakeholders, and build the capacity of teams and partners.
- Deep understanding of child rights programming, humanitarian principles, and gender-sensitive approaches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Swahili is a plus.
