VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – RE-ADVERTISEMENT
On behalf of the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA), Institute of Finance Management (IFM), and Marine Services Company Limited (MSCL), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites dynamic and suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill ten (10) vacant positions listed below.
1.0 INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTANCY ARUSHA (IAA)
The Institute of Accountancy Arusha is a parastatal academic institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate training programs. It was established by the Institute of Accountancy Arusha Act No.1 of 1990 and is located at Njiro Hill, seven kilometers southeast of Arusha City.
1.0.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars. ii. Prepare case studies. iii. Collaborate with senior staff on specific projects such as research and consultancy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Insurance and Social Protection, or Insurance and Actuarial Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Risk Management, Insurance and Social Protection, or Insurance and Actuarial Science, or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.
Salary Scale: PHTS 2
2.0 INSTITUTE OF FINANCE MANAGEMENT (IFM)
The Institute of Finance Management is a public higher learning institution established by Act No. 3 of 1972 to provide training, research, and consultancy services in the fields of banking, insurance, social protection, taxation, accountancy, and related disciplines.
2.0.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN SOCIAL PROTECTION – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars. ii. Prepare case studies. iii. Collaborate with senior staff on specific projects such as research and consultancy. iv. Supervise student projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Social Protection from recognized institutions with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.
Salary Scale: PHTS 2
2.0.5 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT – 2 POSTS

2.0.9 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN ECONOMICS – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars. ii. Prepare case studies. iii. Collaborate with senior staff on specific projects such as research and consultancy. iv. Supervise student projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.
Salary Scale: PHTS 2
2.0.13 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN MATHEMATICS – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars. ii. Prepare case studies. iii. Collaborate with senior staff on specific projects such as research and consultancy. iv. Supervise student projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Mathematics or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.
Salary Scale: PHTS 2
3.0 MARINE SERVICES COMPANY LIMITED (MSCL)
Marine Services Company Limited (MSCL) was incorporated under the Companies Ordinance (Cap 212) on 8th December 1997. The main function of the company is to transport people and cargo along the shores of Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Nyasa. The company’s vision is “To be the most competitive, reliable, safe, and customer-oriented maritime transport company worldwide.”
3.0.1 MARINE ENGINEER II – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Participate in the running, operation, and maintenance of propulsion and electrical systems aboard the vessel. ii. Assist in inspecting and maintaining all equipment, reporting malfunctions, and making adjustments or repairs. iii. Record fuel consumption and lubricants. iv. Enforce applicable marine engineering rules and regulations during watchkeeping. v. Maintain logbook. vi. Participate in any emergency scene. vii. Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate of Competence for Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIEW) on Ships of 750 kW Propulsion Power or more (Reg. III/1) with one (1) year working experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
Salary Scale: MSCS 5
3.0.5 KITCHEN ATTENDANT II – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Prepare and cook various dishes as assigned. ii. Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic. iii. Wash utensils and dishes and store them appropriately. iv. Sort, store, and distribute ingredients and beverages. v. Request all the ingredients required for the preparation of the dishes. vi. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate of Secondary Education and a Certificate in Cookery, Food and Beverage, Hotel Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution. Basic Mandatory Certificates as per STCW95 is an added advantage.
Salary Scale: MSCS 2
