Position Overview
The Agrochemical Product Development Manager will play a key role in analyzing and developing agricultural pesticides, fertilizers, and other products while working closely with manufacturers, regulators, and the market to ensure high-quality inputs for farmers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct product analysis on agricultural pesticides (insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and nematicides) and synthetic fertilizers.
- Undertake scientific product need assessments to ensure market alignment.
- Collaborate with manufacturers to optimize product offerings.
- Perform quality control to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Work with regulators to facilitate the importation of agrochemicals.
- Inspect and verify agricultural chemical imports to meet quality and legal requirements.
- Conduct inspections of pesticide dealers and applicators, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and document findings in detailed reports.
- Promote and negotiate new products with manufacturers to improve the agricultural market.
- Drive innovation and oversee the development of new products.
Experience & Requirements
- Strong background in agricultural science, agronomy, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of agrochemicals, including pesticides and fertilizers.
- Proven experience in quality control, product development, or regulatory compliance within the agricultural sector.
- Ability to conduct scientific analysis and inspections.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of Tanzanian agricultural regulations and market trends.
