Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a leader in providing accessible specialized healthcare services in Africa, driven by its mission to support the most vulnerable communities. As a healthcare social enterprise, CCBRT is dedicated to preventing lifelong disabilities and delivering maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) services, including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a vital referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries across Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

To enhance its nursing services, CCBRT seeks 8 dynamic and experienced Assistant Nursing Officers (Health Volunteers) to provide clinical nursing care in key operational areas, such as OPD, IPD, and OTD.


Position: Assistant Nursing Officer (Health Volunteer)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care aligned with safety regulations and standards, ensuring patient dignity at all times.
  • Prepare patients for consultations, procedures, or surgeries and ensure readiness before meeting doctors or entering the theater.
  • Assist doctors during examinations and surgeries.
  • Facilitate communication by translating between Kiswahili and English for patients and doctors facing language barriers.
  • Provide sensitive and compassionate counseling to patients regarding their medical conditions.
  • Perform clinical procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities and manage patient flow within clinical areas.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Must hold valid registration and a license from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Experience in reproductive and child healthcare, neonatal care, and critical care is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Flexible, proactive, eager to learn, and capable of multitasking.
