Job Title: Communication Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Country Communications Strategy for Tanzania.
• Align with BRAC International’s transformation strategy through effective internal and external communications.
• Support the development of communication strategies for key programs.
• Manage internal communications and engage with external stakeholders on organizational developments.
• Collaborate with the media, initiate campaigns, and manage media events to promote the organization.
• Act as the official spokesperson for BRAC Tanzania Finance Ltd.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets for improved media coverage.
• Strengthen brand equity and reputation management strategies.
• Build capacity for crisis communication and brand building within the team.
• Prepare press releases, interviews, case stories, and press kits.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and protection of all team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation.
• Act as a key source of support and guidance on safeguarding policies.
• Promote safeguarding standards in all operations and encourage incident reporting where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or Marketing.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role within an International Organization.
• Skills Required:
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and layout design skills.
  • Proficiency in professional publishing and digital communication tools.
  • Strong knowledge of current digital and social media trends.
  • Photographic skills and media relations experience.
  • Excellent organizational and networking skills.
