Data Collectors

Main Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of Assessment Coordinators, the Data Collector will:

  • Attend training sessions and familiarize themselves with assessment protocols.
  • Recruit and enroll participants following standard operating procedures.
  • Obtain informed consent from participants.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative interviews.
  • Abstract data from paper and electronic tools at facilities.
  • Collect and store data using tablets and Excel templates.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all assessment information.
  • Document activities, challenges, and report issues to the Assessment Coordinator.
  • Provide feedback/suggestions from participants when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Assessment Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 25 years old.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, health-related subject, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data collection, including interviews.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience engaging with stigmatized populations and discussing sensitive issues (e.g., HIV/AIDS) is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
  • Willingness to work in assigned regions from March to May 2025.

Desired Skills/Qualities:

  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while multitasking.
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g., Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to summarize information clearly and concisely.
  • Willingness to travel within Tanzania to support project activities.
