Position Overview

The Driver/Logistics Support Assistant will provide transportation and logistical support to the RESOLVE-NbS project, ensuring the smooth implementation of activities in Iringa and Morogoro regions.


Key Responsibilities

Transport and Logistics Support

  • Provide driving services for project staff, partners, and others involved in program implementation.
  • Coordinate transportation scheduling and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Facilitate cash purchases and bank transfers in collaboration with the procurement team.
  • Manage mail distribution and facilitate staff or visitor arrivals and departures.
  • Organize transportation logistics for field trips and site visits.

Vehicle Maintenance Management

  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and daily logs of activities.
  • Ensure the safety of vehicles and accessories during use.
  • Oversee routine vehicle maintenance and timely insurance renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with IUCN vehicle usage policies and traffic regulations.

Office and Administrative Support

  • Assist with fieldwork planning and participation.
  • Provide administrative support, including photocopying and maintaining office organization.
  • Act as a backup for the project administrator by answering phones, welcoming visitors, and maintaining a visitor register.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • Ordinary-Level Secondary School Certificate.
  • Certificate in driving from National Institute of Transport (NIT) and/or VETA.
  • Defensive driving training is required.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of continuous driving experience in a reputable organization.
  • Familiarity with urban and rural road networks in Tanzania.
  • Proven time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
  • Experience driving manual transmission vehicles.

Languages

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swahili.
