About Kafika House

Kafika House, formerly known as The Plaster House, is an international non-governmental organization (I-NGO) based in Arusha, Tanzania. Established in 2008, we provide a compassionate and supportive environment for children undergoing pre- and post-operative care for surgically treatable disabilities. Our mission is to ensure that no child in Tanzania lives with a treatable disability.

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Finance Intern to join our team on a short-term internship contract. The intern will support our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in an international NGO setting and contribute to meaningful work.

Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and reports.
  • Support the Finance Coordinator in processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Participate in monthly reconciliations of accounts, including bank and supplier statements.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for projects and organizational operations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in auditing processes by organizing and providing required documentation.
  • Monitor expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate and secure financial documentation, both digital and physical.
  • Support other administrative duties as required within the finance department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Swahili.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
