General Manager Retail Distribution

Alliance Life Assurance Ltd, a pioneering Tanzanian life insurance company established in 2010, seeks a dynamic General Manager Retail Distribution to lead its expanding operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Sales & Distribution Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales for individual life products.
• Staffing and Training: Recruit, train, and develop sales staff to meet business needs.
• Product Development: Oversee product development, from concept to launch, including market analysis and pricing.
• Direct Sales Management: Manage direct sales efforts, including online and digital platforms, to boost revenue and control distribution costs.
• Partnership Channels: Strengthen sales through partnerships with bancassurance, brokers, and agencies.
• Customer Retention: Achieve a 90% customer retention rate across the retail portfolio.
• Profitability: Ensure profitability through cost optimization, increased production, and digital business growth.
• Retail Distribution Management: Supervise the entire retail distribution process effectively.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of retail sales experience in a life insurance firm.
• Managed a life insurance sales portfolio worth at least TZS 15 billion.
• At least 5 years managing profit center functions.
• At least 5 years managing partnership channels such as banks or large brokers.
• Over 10 years managing distribution teams of 200+ individuals, including remote teams.
• Experience in online/digital sales is advantageous.
• Strong financial statement analysis skills.
• Educational Qualifications: Associate Diploma from ACII UK, III India, LOMA USA, or CIM Degree, MBA in Sales & Marketing or General Management, or a relevant university degree.
