Job Objective

The primary responsibility of the Head of Sales is to build business by identifying and selling ISP enterprise and SME prospects, maintaining client relationships, and driving the sales team toward achieving set targets. The role involves accurate reporting, developing sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-performance sales team by coaching, mentoring, and motivating them to achieve sales targets.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and plans for effective operations and resource planning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and upselling opportunities.
  • Regularly report on team performance, targets, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to develop sales tools and training programs.
  • Manage sales territories to meet targets across regions.
  • Analyze customer portfolios and recommend business strategies.
  • Deliver profitable sales through efficient planning and execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Continuously improve the sales process and implement best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Proficiency in meeting monthly and annual revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Expertise in managing work, reporting, and KPI tracking (e.g., sales, targets, account receivable).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to forecast and plan sales strategies creatively.
  • Familiarity with trends in technology and market developments.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ISP/MNO sales, with team management experience.
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili; additional languages are a plus.
