Role Overview:

The ICT Intern will provide essential Level 1 IT support to Action Against Hunger’s Tanzania Mission staff. This role involves addressing IT-related requests from both field offices and the central office, under the guidance of the Logistics Department and the Regional ICT team. Additionally, the intern will play a pivotal role in managing and updating the organization’s asset and equipment registers. As Action Against Hunger embraces digital transformation, this role will also support the development and deployment of automated tools and solutions to optimize business processes.


Key Responsibilities:

1. IT Support and Maintenance

  • Manage the helpdesk, ensuring all support tickets and calls are promptly addressed.
  • Provide Level 1 support for hardware and software issues.
  • Administer and maintain PCs, including software installations and hardware management.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance for IT equipment.

2. Network and Asset Management

  • Monitor and maintain network connectivity and performance.
  • Update and manage the organization’s equipment and asset registers.

3. Digital Transformation and Tool Deployment

  • Assist in rolling out automated tools and ensuring their effective use.
  • Support the deployment and management of ERP systems.
  • Provide training to staff on IT policies, processes, and tools.

4. Graphic Design and Communications

  • Create visually appealing materials, such as infographics, flyers, and project briefs, to support communication efforts.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Experience in a humanitarian or development setting is an asset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and planning abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
  • Basic graphic design skills are an advantage.
