SOA Tanzania Internship and Volunteer Opportunities – January 2025

General Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged 18-35.
  • Submit a 1-page CV and a 1-page motivational letter in PDF format.
  • Deadline for applications: 20th January 2025, End of Day (EOD).

Paid Internship Positions:

  1. Financial Officer (Intern)
    • Manage SOA Tanzania’s financial activities, including revenue tracking and budgeting.
    • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare audited reports.
    • Oversee donation management and staff salary disbursement.
    • Actively contribute to fundraising and grant application processes.

    Requirements:

    • Background in finance, accounting, or fund management.
    • Experience handling donations and financial reporting.
    • Active SOA Tanzania membership.
  2. Communication Manager (Intern)
    • Create and manage engaging content for SOA Tanzania’s social media platforms.
    • Develop newsletters, blogs, and digital campaigns.
    • Design visual content and promotional materials.

    Requirements:

    • Background in communications, IT, or digital design.
    • Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, and social media platforms.
    • Active SOA Tanzania membership.
  3. Human Resource Manager (Intern)
    • Ensure efficient staff operations and task management.
    • Maintain organizational documents and oversee office protocols.
    • Conduct in-person meetings and staff performance evaluations.

    Requirements:

    • Background in Human Resource Management or Social Sciences.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of marine sciences is a plus.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  1. Project and Program Manager (Volunteer)
    • Oversee project implementation and monitor progress.
    • Manage the SOA Tanzania Opportunity Map and project timelines.
    • Prepare detailed annual reports for donors and stakeholders.

    Requirements:

    • Background in marine sciences, project management, or environmental studies.
    • Experience with Google Workspace tools.
    • Active SOA Tanzania membership.
  2. Policy Officer (Volunteer)
    • Develop and enforce SOA Tanzania’s organizational policies.
    • Educate team members on compliance regulations and environmental laws.

    Requirements:

    • Background in law or legal studies.
    • Experience in drafting and enforcing policies.
    • Active SOA Tanzania membership.
