Job Title: IT Officer

Job Purpose:
The IT Officer will oversee the smooth functioning of all IT infrastructure, systems, and services within the hospitality setting. This includes hardware, software, and network management to support staff operations and guest services efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

System & Network Support:

  • Manage and maintain all IT hardware and software, including servers, computers, and network equipment.
  • Ensure uninterrupted internal network and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Technical Support:

  • Provide prompt technical assistance to staff on IT-related issues.
  • Ensure proper operation of the Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and other internal software.

Guest Technology Services:

  • Maintain reliable guest Wi-Fi services and other technological amenities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting guest-facing devices when required.

Data Security & Privacy:

  • Implement data protection measures and ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR and PCI DSS.
  • Perform regular data backups and ensure effective recovery plans.

Software & Hardware Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and regularly update all systems and devices.
  • Ensure systems run on the latest versions and security patches are applied.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Respond to IT issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Identify and mitigate potential IT risks.

Vendor Coordination:

  • Coordinate with external vendors for IT products and services procurement.
  • Oversee the installation and integration of new IT equipment.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain records of IT infrastructure, issues, and resolutions.
  • Provide regular performance reports and updates to management.

Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of computer networks, IT infrastructure, and hardware management.
  • Experience with hospitality software (PMS, POS systems, booking engines).

Problem-Solving:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Communication:

  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff and guests.

Attention to Detail:

  • High standards for data security and system reliability.

Customer Service:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a guest-focused approach.

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in IT support, preferably in the hospitality industry.
