Position Description

The Barrick Africa Middle East team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities

• Ensure tasks and activities are executed in compliance with safety standards, operating procedures, and safe work instructions.
• Analyze project specifications, develop work schedules, and delegate tasks to teams effectively.
• Manage projects to ensure they stay within the allocated budget and timeframe.
• Define project responsibilities by identifying phases, assigning personnel, and coordinating elements.
• Utilize design and visualization tools such as AutoCAD for project development.
• Monitor project schedules, coordinate activities, and resolve issues to ensure progress aligns with plans.
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
• Oversee compliance with applicable codes, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Conduct quality control checks on all aspects of the project, including budget, schedule, plans, and contractor performance.
• Provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to offer technical support and assistance.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Project Engineer on construction projects, with expertise in:
  • Steel fabrication and erection works.
  • Equipment installation and commissioning.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
  • In-depth understanding of AutoCAD and other design software.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Valid driving license.
  • Project management experience (preferred).
