Job Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to provide strategic oversight for TACATDP (Transformational Adaptation and Climate Action Through Development Programs) loans, ensuring their proper application and disbursement in alignment with the Bank’s credit policies. The role also involves driving the growth of the clean green asset loan portfolio, adhering to specified terms and conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Loan Oversight:
Ensure Agriculture Resilience and Adaptation (ARA) loans submitted by lending and business staff meet eligibility criteria and are disbursed per the Bank’s special group memo. - Portfolio Growth:
Facilitate the expansion of the Bank’s green asset portfolio by ensuring proper disbursement of loans forwarded to the Credit Department. - Policy Compliance:
Guarantee that all ARA loans comply with the Bank’s credit policies, national and international regulations, and best practices in the industry. - Credit Worthiness Analysis:
Review and analyze credit data, generate periodic reports, and assess compliance with environmental and social risk standards, including E&S risk categorization. - Training & Awareness:
Build capacity among credit analysts by providing training on eligibility criteria for TACATDP loans and the adaptation technologies they finance. - Updates & Risk Mitigation:
Communicate updates on green lending requirements to the Credit Department to avoid or mitigate risks. - Performance Reporting:
Develop, evaluate, and generate performance reports based on TACATDP performance indicators as stipulated in lender agreements. - Loan Monitoring:
Regularly monitor TACATDP loan performance by reviewing credit reports and financial statements.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics, Accountancy, Statistics, or Environmental studies from a recognized institution. - Additional Certifications (Preferred):
CPA, ACCA, or a Master’s Degree/Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration. - Key Knowledge Areas:
- Banking, statistics, accountancy, and economics.
- Environmental and social risk management in project loans.
- Credit and financial analytics.
- Spreadsheets, databases, and financial/credit software systems.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Core Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth understanding of business, economics, and financial risk.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Ability to assess and manage environmental, gender, and social risks.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines under pressure.
