One Nature Hotels & Resorts, located in Arusha, Tanzania, is seeking a skilled and experienced Lodge Manager to oversee the daily operations of the lodge. The role is crucial in ensuring that the lodge meets its financial, operational, and service standards while maintaining the highest level of guest satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Lodge Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the lodge’s day-to-day operations. This includes driving revenue growth, managing budgets, supervising staff, and ensuring the lodge meets quality standards in both infrastructure and guest service. The successful candidate will need strong leadership, business, and organizational skills to enhance the lodge’s reputation as a top-tier tourism destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily operations of the lodge, ensuring smooth and efficient management.
- Develop and execute an annual budget and business plan to meet financial targets.
- Implement strong marketing strategies to increase visitor numbers and establish a prominent profile in the tourism industry.
- Monitor income and expenses, using the budget as a guiding framework for financial management.
- Ensure the lodge meets high standards for maintenance, infrastructure, and technical operations.
- Enforce lodge policies and compliance with local laws, working closely with human resources and relevant tourism grading bodies.
- Develop short- and long-term operational plans to ensure the sustainability and success of the lodge.
- Select and manage qualified staff to maintain the highest quality of service.
- Provide regular status updates and escalate key issues to the General Manager as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with other companies and partners.
- Collaborate with the financial department on bookkeeping and budget management.
- Perform tasks related to client invoicing, stock management, and promoting the lodge to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in lodge or hotel management.
