Management and Development for Health (MDH), a non-governmental and non-profit organization, is committed to addressing Tanzania’s pressing public health challenges. Working alongside local and international partners, MDH focuses on key health priorities such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health (RMNCH), Nutrition, and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). In partnership with the Ministry of Health, PORALG, donor agencies, academic institutions, and community-based organizations, MDH is dedicated to strengthening health systems and improving public health outcomes.

MDH, in collaboration with Dar es Salaam City Council and various municipal councils (Temeke, Ubungo, Kigamboni, and Kinondoni), invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Logistics Officer.

Job Title: Logistics Officer (10 Posts)

Reporting to: Facility In-charge
Location: Dar es Salaam City Council and surrounding Municipalities (Temeke, Ubungo, Kigamboni, Kinondoni)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely collect specimens from health facilities and deliver them to the designated laboratories.
  • Transport test results and other critical medical reports from the lab back to health facilities.
  • Efficiently distribute tools, medical supplies, and equipment to various health centers.
  • Ensure proper operation and timely maintenance of the assigned motorcycle, including fuel and service tracking.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and service costs.
  • Follow all safety protocols while riding and ensure personal safety, along with the motorcycle’s safety.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Transport Officer, or Site Manager.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of Secondary School Education with proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
  • Possession of a valid driving license class ‘A’; class ‘B’ is an added advantage.
  • Driving certificate from a recognized institution (VETA certification is an added bonus).
  • At least 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in the public or private sector.
  • Ability to ride and maintain a motorcycle with excellent operational knowledge.
  • Demonstrated with integrity, honesty, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changes in project needs.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, when required.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and flexibility in handling logistical tasks.
