Job Purpose:
The Manager – Performance & Strategy is responsible for analyzing key financial performance ratio trends, providing insights into business activities, and recommending appropriate courses of action. This role will support data-driven decision-making through in-depth analysis, reporting, and strategic alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly business reports.
- Perform revenue assurance for products, ensuring accurate reporting of interest income and expenses.
- Prepare business segment and product reports as required.
- Coordinate and consolidate weekly business reports, supporting various business units.
- Monitor strategic initiative implementation, comparing actual performance to budget.
- Conduct data analysis using statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms for business insights.
- Creating data visualizations and reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure a unified dataset from multiple sources.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses for quick insights and business recommendations.
- Support the business in preparing the monthly Performance Pack with product and process analytics.
- Review and validate Loss Given Default (LGD), Probability of Default (PD), and Exposure at Default (EAD) models for impairment rates.
- Conduct in-depth credit portfolio analysis, focusing on Non-Performing Loans (NPL), impairment loss, and sectoral performance.
- Manage data quality related to the Credit Reference Data Lake to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare analytics reports (daily, monthly, ad-hoc) for decision-making purposes, including LLR, Vintage Analysis, and Rolling Rates.
- Provide expert guidance during credit portfolio audits.
- Monitor post-project implementation and report on performance to management and the Board.
- Analyze key operational efficiencies such as human capital and system capacity utilization, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in preparing quarterly board reports and updating bank scorecards for strategy tracking.
- Support budgeting and strategic decision-making with analytical data.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, providing explanations for deviations.
- Ensure budgetary controls are in place at every business stage.
Qualifications:
- A University Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Statistics, or related fields.
- Advanced coding skills in SAS and SQL.
- Proficiency in analytical software and programming languages (SAS, Python).
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial market skills.
- Have Expertise in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail, good time management, and excellent presentation skills.
- Be Flexible, dependable, and trustworthy, with high levels of integrity.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of banking experience, with 2 years in a senior managerial role.

- Strong financial analytical skills and ability to evaluate and report on performance.

Working Conditions:
It’s Indoor duties, with meetings and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Performance Evaluation:
Evaluations are conducted in June and December.
