
The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is an independent government department in Tanzania, established under the Public Service Act No. 8 of 2002 and amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, Section 29(1). PSRS is dedicated to streamlining the recruitment process for employees within the Public Service, ensuring fairness, transparency, and merit-based selection.

Mission
To facilitate the recruitment of public servants using modern methodologies while upholding equity, transparency, and merit. PSRS also provides advisory services to employers on employment-related matters.
Core Functions
The PSRS focuses on enhancing the recruitment process for the Public Service by:
Identifying and maintaining a database of professionals with specialized skills for easy recruitment.
Registering graduates and professionals to streamline filling vacant posts.
Advertising public service vacancies and managing applications.
Engaging qualified experts to conduct interviews.
Advising employers on recruitment matters.
Carrying out other duties as directed by the responsible Minister.
