Job Overview: Relationship Manager
Job Purpose:
The Relationship Manager is responsible for driving business growth by managing client assets (loans) and liabilities (deposits). This role involves providing strategic guidance to the branch and offering leadership to Relationship Officers to secure and grow customer portfolios.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and nurture strong client relationships, offering tailored solutions to meet diverse client needs.
- Drive revenue growth by managing existing clients and acquiring new clients.
- Understand clients’ financial needs and align the bank’s products and services accordingly.
- Acquire new clients through targeted product offerings and collaborate with the sales team to ensure high-quality lead generation.
- Conduct KYC reviews and risk assessments for onboarding new clients.
- Manage credit risk for assigned client portfolios, ensuring risks are mitigated and economic value is maximized.
- Collaborate with Relationship Officers and Branch Managers to structure appropriate financial solutions.
- Ensure the highest standards in client portfolio management by actively engaging with internal bank stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate client information, address service requests promptly, and ensure efficient client communication.
- Make regular client calls and swiftly handle inquiries and requests.
- Support other Relationship Officers to improve service quality and boost revenue.
- Prepare business development presentations for senior management, outlining growth strategies and plans.
- Ensure that the performance criteria and risk levels remain within acceptable standards.
- Handle client financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and foreign currency exchanges, while balancing cash regularly.
- Identify customer needs and connect them with the appropriate banking services or specialists.
- Open and close accounts as requested by clients, addressing any customer concerns and resolving issues.
Key Competencies and Academic Background:
A. Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking and Finance, or related fields.
- An MBA is an added advantage.
B. Required Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate banking.
C. Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Deep understanding of MHB’s products and services.
- Strong communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.
- Ability to share clear and valuable information on products and services.
- Ability to build genuine, long-lasting relationships with clients, maintaining integrity and trust.
- Professionalism, reliability, and the capacity to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
