We Are Hiring: Tax Accountant
TPC Ltd, one of Tanzania’s most esteemed sugar producers, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our team in Moshi, at the base of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. If you are an experienced professional in Accounting and Taxation with a strong background in tax management and auditing, this opportunity is for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and file tax returns with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) while ensuring timely tax payments.
- Financial Reconciliation: Conduct and maintain monthly GL reconciliations for all tax-related accounts.
- Liaison with TRA & Consultants: Communicate with TRA officials and tax consultants as needed.
- Audit Support: Assist tax auditors during tax audits and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
- Tax Asset & Liability Management: Maintain accurate records of company tax assets and liabilities, along with a register of outstanding tax matters.
- Customer & Supplier Support: Address and respond to TRA, customer, and supplier tax-related queries.
- Procurement Assistance: Support the procurement team in ensuring that customs and clearing charges are correctly calculated and paid in accordance with the law.
- Annual Tax Preparation: Prepare annual tax calculations for year-end reports, budgeting, and filing annual returns.
- Employee Training: Conduct internal tax training to enhance staff awareness and compliance with tax regulations.
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Highly organized with a structured work approach.
- Proficiency in computer applications relevant to accounting and taxation.
- Degree/Diploma in Accountancy or Taxation.
- At least four years of experience in accounting and taxation.
