Assistant Technical Manager – Dar es Salaam at Cartrack

Responsibilities;

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining GPS tracking and fleet management systems for clients.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and calibration of GPS tracking devices and sensors.
  • Support software and hardware troubleshooting for client systems and internal operations.
  • Monitor the performance of GPS tracking platforms and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the R&D or software team for system upgrades, firmware updates, and feature enhancements.
  • Supervise field technicians and ensure adherence to company standards and procedures.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for technicians and customer support teams.
  • Review installation reports and provide feedback or corrective action where necessary.
  • Work closely with clients to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support customer service teams in addressing escalated technical issues.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, performance metrics, and system improvement proposals.
  • Ensure all GPS tracking installations meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation for technical processes, configurations, and client deployments.
  • Participate in audits and implement corrective measures where required.

Requirements

Qualifications;

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Auto Electrical, Automobile engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in GPS tracking, telematics or fleet management solutions.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, data analytics tools, and cloud based monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting tools, firmware flashing, and device configuration.
  • Excellent leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and client-handling capabilities.
  • Time management and ability to multitask under pressure.
