💼 Role Summary – Finance Manager
We are seeking a results-oriented Finance Manager with exceptional leadership and financial acumen to oversee the strategic and operational management of all finance and accounting functions within the bank. This is a key leadership position based at our Head Office in Dar es Salaam, with oversight across all MHB branches nationwide.
The Finance Manager will ensure regulatory compliance, enhance financial processes, and align the bank’s financial systems with long-term strategic objectives.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations in budgeting, accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Produce timely, accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and tax filings.
- Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian financial regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve financial procedures.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to support governance and risk management.
- Manage payroll, revenue collection, expense controls, and financial reconciliations.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline financial systems and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with department heads to support data-driven financial decision-making.
- Support fundraising, investment strategies, and liquidity management.
- Foster and maintain relationships with financial stakeholders, including regulators, lenders, and depositors.
🧩 Additional Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and annual account reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.
- Coordinate bank-wide asset inventory and fixed asset management.
- Guide strategic budgeting processes across all units.
- Manage audit processes and ensure the bank remains audit-ready at all times.
- Cultivate a collaborative and performance-driven finance team.
- Promote innovation and knowledge sharing within the finance department.
🎓 Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Statistics.
- Certified CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent qualification – Mandatory.
- Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in Finance/Accounting – Preferred.
- Registered member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry, with at least 3 years in a senior finance role.
🧠 Key Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including modeling and forecasting).
- Strong analytical thinking and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in financial technology (FinTech) systems is a plus.
