Position Overview
Corus International is hiring a Finance Officer for a five-year USDA project aimed at developing and transforming SMEs in the poultry value chain into sustainable commercial businesses in Tanzania. The project focuses on feed sector strengthening, agricultural technologies, animal health management, and financial services across Mbeya, Iringa, Songwe, and Rukwa.
The Finance Officer (FO) will report to the Finance & Administration Director and oversee financial transactions, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with international accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
π Financial Transactions & Reporting
βοΈ Process payment requests and enter transactions into accounting software.
βοΈ Prepare monthly cash advance requests for office operations.
βοΈ Consolidate financial reports for submission to headquarters.
π° Payroll & Tax Compliance
βοΈ Process payroll and tax payments (including withholding taxes and returns).
βοΈ Track advance requests, reconciliations, and repayments.
βοΈ Maintain petty cash and ensure policy compliance.
π Financial Administration & Compliance
βοΈ Maintain financial records (vouchers, payroll documents, bank statements, etc.).
βοΈ Assist in audit preparations and ensure accurate documentation.
βοΈ Oversee procurement processes (vendor vetting, estimates, and contract compliance).
π Logistics & Office Administration
βοΈ Arrange staff travel, events, and workshops.
βοΈ Manage office administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience
π Education & Certification
β
Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
β
ACCA/CPA certification is a plus.
π Experience & Skills
β
Minimum 3 years of experience in finance/accounting.
β
Proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks, MIP).
β
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
β
Excellent communication skills in English & Swahili.
β
Ability to work independently and in a team.
β
Experience in NGOs and international organizations is an added advantage.
