VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), on behalf of the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), invites applications from dynamic, result-oriented, and suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill fourteen (14) vacant positions.

1.0 ABOUT SOKOINE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE (SUA)

The Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) was officially established on 1st July 1984 under the Act of Parliament No. 6. This Act was later replaced by the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005, granting SUA its current charter in 2007. SUA’s vision is to become a center of excellence in delivering quality education, skills, and innovation in the fields of agriculture and related sciences.

2.0 GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION

All prospective candidates are required to adhere to the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility:
   • Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens with an age limit of 45 years, except for candidates already employed in the Public Service.
   • Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must clearly indicate this in their application through the portal for priority consideration.
2. Application Documents:
   • Attach an up-to-date CV detailing reliable contacts such as postal addresses, email, and phone numbers.
   • Submit certified copies of relevant academic and professional qualifications, including:
     • Postgraduate, Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or Certificate transcripts.
     • Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
     • Professional Registration and Training Certificates (where applicable).
     • A valid Birth Certificate.
   • Recent passport-size photo must be uploaded.
3. Non-Acceptable Documents:
   • Form IV and Form VI results slips.
   • Testimonials or incomplete academic transcripts.
4. Public Service Applicants:
   • Applicants employed in the public sector must route their applications through their respective employers.
   • Retirees from public service are not eligible to apply.
5. Verification of Foreign Certificates:
   • Certificates obtained from foreign examination bodies must be verified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
   • Professional credentials issued by foreign universities or institutions should be certified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or NACTE.
6. Additional Requirements:
   • Applications must include three reputable referees with valid contact details.
   • The application letter, written in either English or Swahili, must be signed and addressed to:
     Secretary, President’s Office, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat,
     P.O. Box 2320, University of Dodoma,
     Utumishi Building/Asha Rose Migiro Buildings – Dodoma.
7. Deadline:
   • Applications must be submitted no later than 2nd February 2025.
8. Interview Process:
   • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
9. Legal Consequences:
   • Presentation of forged documents or false information will result in legal action.
