Job Summary

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for organizing, operating, and developing the Food & Beverage department to ensure smooth and efficient service. The role focuses on maintaining high service standards, maximizing profitability, and creating guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional food and beverage service.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement food and beverage promotions, strategies, and special events in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Manager and Executive Chef.
  • Maintain optimum sales volume and work toward achieving sales objectives set by management.
  • Motivate and train restaurant service personnel to ensure guest satisfaction and staff satisfaction.
  • Follow food and beverage sales and control procedures as directed by management.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve grievances effectively.
  • Oversee menu planning, coordination, and negotiations.
  • Ensure service standards are met and address any guest complaints promptly.
  • Coordinate venue upkeep and cleanliness with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure staff adherence to grooming and uniform standards.
  • Implement directives from the Food and Beverage Manager and Hotel General Manager.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and address challenges as needed.
  • Supervise table service, ensuring correct order-taking, sequencing, and food quality.
  • Assess staff performance periodically and provide feedback.
  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures for food service.
  • Deliver creativity and leadership to meet operational business needs.
  • Focus on key metrics: engagement, guest experience, revenue, margins, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and manage the food and beverage budget in line with forecasts.
  • Oversee operations for restaurants, banquet functions, and in-room dining while introducing innovative methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in food and beverage management.
  • Experience managing multi-site outlets in an F&B environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multicultural team.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs (e.g., MS Office, Google Suite).
