Position: Finance Officer – 2 Posts

Job Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and optimal resource utilization. Your responsibilities include:

1. Petty Cash Management: Handle all petty cash transactions and maintain accurate records on a daily basis.
2. Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Policy Implementation: Review and enforce organizational financial policies.
4. Audit Participation: Support and participate in both internal and external financial audits.
5. Account Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile books of accounts to ensure accuracy.
6. Compliance: Liaise with government departments to ensure compliance with regulations, including timely submission of tax returns and other statutory requirements.
7. Tax Handling: Manage corporate taxes, pay withholding taxes, and ensure proper record-keeping.
8. Collaboration: Work with other departments to achieve organizational financial goals.
9. Funds Utilization: Ensure effective allocation and utilization of funds across the organization.
10. Bank Compliance: Monitor and ensure timely adherence to monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities.
11. System Improvement: Develop and implement processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial workflows.
12. Branch Support: Frequently visit branches to ensure financial operations align with company standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A CPA certification is highly desirable.
• An MSc or MBA is an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in finance or accounting roles (preferably with NGOs, financial institutions, or consultancy firms).
• Solid knowledge of corporate financial laws and compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and financial software (e.g., SAP).
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
