About TWCC

The Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) is a dynamic organization founded in December 2005 to unite and empower women and youth entrepreneurs across Tanzania. Serving as an apex body, TWCC brings together sectoral Business Women Associations, cooperatives, companies, groups, and individual proprietors, creating an inclusive platform for economic empowerment.

With a membership exceeding 15,000 and a reach of over 1 million women across various sectors, TWCC operates in 27 Regional Chapters throughout Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. The organization is dedicated to fostering formal business practices, facilitating capacity-building initiatives, and advocating for favorable policies to support women-led enterprises.


Role Overview

As the Youth Wing Coordinator (Intern), you will play a pivotal role in supporting young entrepreneurs by developing, coordinating, and implementing youth-focused initiatives under TWCC’s Youth Wing. You’ll work to engage young women, enhance their business skills, and promote their involvement in economic development activities. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to foster leadership and entrepreneurship while contributing to youth empowerment in Tanzania.


Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Coordination

  • Develop and execute youth-centric programs that focus on entrepreneurship, leadership, and financial literacy.
  • Organize training sessions, workshops, and events to build business acumen and leadership skills among young entrepreneurs.
  • Design and implement advocacy campaigns addressing the challenges and opportunities for youth in business.

Youth Engagement

  • Build relationships with young women entrepreneurs, ensuring their active participation in TWCC’s programs.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance, helping young entrepreneurs navigate challenges and scale their businesses.
  • Strengthen connections with youth networks and stakeholder groups to foster collaboration and joint initiatives.

Networking & Partnerships

  • Establish partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations to advance youth development goals.
  • Represent TWCC’s Youth Wing at forums, conferences, and events to advocate for young entrepreneurs.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities for young women to present ideas to investors and stakeholders.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track the progress of youth-focused initiatives and prepare regular updates for management.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Compile quarterly and annual reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and impact.

Resource Mobilization

  • Identify funding opportunities to support youth entrepreneurship programs.
  • Collaborate with teams to prepare grant proposals and secure financial resources for youth initiatives.

Communication & Advocacy

  • Develop engaging content for newsletters, social media, and reports to showcase the Youth Wing’s impact.
  • Advocate for gender equality and policies that promote youth entrepreneurship at various levels.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise junior staff or volunteers involved in Youth Wing activities.
  • Organize team meetings and provide guidance for effective program implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years in youth program coordination, entrepreneurship development, or economic empowerment.
    • Proven experience working with youth groups or women entrepreneurs.
    • Track record in fundraising or resource mobilization is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of challenges faced by young women entrepreneurs in Tanzania.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Fluency in Swahili and English.
  • Creative, proactive, and passionate about youth empowerment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
