Position: Driver  

Africa Relief and Community Development 

Department: Administration Department 

Africa Relief and Community Development (ARCD) is seeking a Driver who will be responsible  for providing substantive support for the logistical aspects of the Tanzania Regional office and  projects. S/he will be responsible for performing basic administrative tasks, receiving local and  international visitors, driving staff or guests to project sites, and running office errands. S/he will  work under the overall guidance of the Administration Office to perform the logistics duties and  other office administrative tasks. in Tanzania, this position plays a critical role in ensuring  program efficiency, resolving challenges, and maintaining compliance with standards of care. 

Job Requirements: 

• Strong communication skills, both in English and the Swahili language, oral and  written.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good knowledge of roads and routes, as well as how to use Google Maps or location  services.
• Strong adherence to the motor vehicle usage policy and local and national traffic  laws is always.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to individuals diplomatically  and tactfully.
• Must be courteous, honest, and of high integrity, especially in high-pressure  situations.
• Must be a team player and can execute and manage multiple tasks with minimal  supervision.
• Ability to follow directions and independently complete assigned tasks (written or  verbal).
• Ability to work a varied schedule to include early mornings, weekends, and some  evenings.
• Age should be 25 to 40.

Qualifications and Skills: 

• Secondary education with an ordinary level certificate plus three (3) years’ relevant experience  in a non-profit setting and at least two (2) years’ hands-on related experience in a comparable position.
• Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (Class B, D, C1, or E). Certificate in defensive driving from a government-recognized driving institute.
