THE ROLE 

 The Head of Revenue Assurance leads the design and execution of controls that safeguard  revenue streams, minimize leakage and ensure billing accuracy across products and channels.  This role oversees end to end revenue processes, analytics, compliance, and risk mitigation.  The position requires strong financial governance expertise, data literacy, and cross functional  leadership. 

RESPONSIBILITIES. 

The successful candidate shall perform the following duties but not limited to; 

  • Develop and maintain a regular revenue forecasting process comprising of regular trend  analysis and a real -time revenue forecast.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue assurance framework covering order to  cash, billing, rating, and collections.
  • Investigate root causes of revenue variances and prepare reconciliation reports with  financial impact estimates.
  • Identify, quantify and remediate revenue leakage risks.
  • Lead revenue analytics and reconciliation processes across systems and platforms.
  • Establish key performance indicators that aligns with the monthly budgets for revenue  integrity and leakage prevention.
  • Oversee internal controls aligned with financial reporting standards and audit  requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, Sales, Operations and Compliance teams to resolve issues  and drive process improvements.
  • Manage internal and external audit engagements related to revenue processes.
  • Drive automation initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  •  Lead and develop the revenue assurance team, including performance management and  succession planning.
  • Provide executive reporting on revenue risk exposure and recovery initiatives.

THE CANDIDATE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or  related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIA preferred.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in revenue assurance, financial control, audit, or risk  management.
  • Proven experience in leading cross functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, billing platforms, and data analytics tools.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to the industry.

TECHNICAL SKILLS 

  • Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, Power  Query), Experience with SGL for data extraction.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principals and internal controls.
  • Basic scripting (Python,R) or automation tools is a plus.

Preferred / Added Advantage 

  • Experience in telecommunications, fintech, SaaS, or subscription-based business models.
  • Exposure to large scale data environments and automation tools.
  • Experience managing complex system integrations and transformation projects.
