Role Overview:

Position: Supervisor – UG Maintenance
Contract Type: Unspecified Time Contract
Department: Engineering
Reporting To: Senior Supervisor – UG Mechanical
Number of Positions: One (1)

The Supervisor – UG Maintenance ensures the effective execution of planned maintenance operations, compliance with safety and statutory obligations, and reactive responses to breakdowns, balancing organizational and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety and Reporting:
   • Promote a safe work environment and report safety concerns promptly.
   • Ensure shift handovers are conducted professionally and shift reports are managed effectively.
2. Team Management:
   • Supervise and evaluate team performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
   • Provide leadership to foster a high-performance, customer-focused work environment.
3. Maintenance Oversight:
   • Develop, monitor, and adjust the maintenance budget.
   • Lead the team to meet maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
   • Ensure punctuality and discipline among team members.
4. Technical Leadership:
   • Perform checks and tests to validate repair success.
   • Provide coaching and training for subordinates.
5. Policy and Administration:
   • Implement best practices in administration, including goal setting, procedure development, and evaluation.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

• Secondary School Certificate with a VETA Trade Test Certificate (Grade One/Level Three) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Diploma/Full Technician Certificate in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering.
• Valid Tanzanian Driving License.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with underground equipment such as Sandvik and Caterpillar machinery.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in team management and fostering collaboration.
• Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
