Position Title: Technology Vendor Management Specialist (Re-advertised)
Location: Head Office, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Job Purpose: The Technology Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for managing the bank’s technology vendor relationships. This role ensures optimal vendor performance, fosters strong partnerships, and mitigates risks associated with technology vendors, thereby maximizing the bank’s return on investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Vendor Performance Programs: Establish standardized programs to assess and enhance vendor performance.
- Create IT Vendor Management Frameworks: Design structured frameworks to oversee vendor interactions and performance metrics.
- Develop Performance Scorecards and Dashboards: Implement tools to monitor and report on vendor performance effectively.
- Maintain Vendor Relationships: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with key technology vendors to ensure alignment with the bank’s objectives.
- Monitor Vendor Performance: Regularly assess vendor performance against agreed-upon service levels and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Address Performance Issues: Promptly identify and resolve any vendor performance concerns to maintain service quality.
- Generate Performance Reports: Provide detailed reports on vendor performance for internal stakeholders to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with internal departments to ensure efficient utilization of vendor services and clear communication of technology requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
- Professional Certification: Preferred certification in vendor or contracts management.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in vendor and contract management within the technology sector.
Knowledge and Skills:
- IT and Technology Trends: Strong understanding of current IT and technology developments.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Proficient in procurement processes and contract management principles.
- Legal and Compliance: Knowledgeable in legal and compliance aspects related to vendor management.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to understand financial implications and manage budgets effectively.
- Risk Management: Skilled in identifying contract risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Contracting Trends: Familiar with contracting trends, licensing models, and vendor performance models.
- Negotiation Skills: Expertise in IT contract negotiation tactics and strategies.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Team Collaboration: Team player who can motivate and educate other team members and stakeholders.
