Key Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning, implementation, and Management (40%)

Collaborate with other WVT Urban Programs/project teams to ensure the efficient implementation of economic empowerment activities in alignment with work plans, targets, budgets, and reporting requirements.
Assist National Program Managers in crafting comprehensive annual and quarterly reports, focusing primarily on the economic empowerment aspects of the projects, and providing necessary details regarding project activities.
Support the development of annual work plans for economic empowerment interventions within the project
Act as a focal point for WVT, Partners and Government on all donor compliance requirements, ensuring that staff and partners are correctly informed of donor requirements and are fully capacitated to ensure compliance
Ensure effective coordination and problem solving between WVT, Partners and government
Maintain effective working relationships with partners, representing WVT to a high standard in all interactions including partner visits and representation in meeting.

Innovatively collaborate with partners, allies, LGAs and like-minded stakeholders to influence policy and achieve the multiplied impact;
Develop and support effective linkages and collaboration with key public institutions in the relevant fields.

Manages stakeholder relationship: develops and maintains contacts of key stakeholders, meeting schedules and minutes
Established and maintained relationships with the community, government, project staff and World Vision Canada.
Attends conferences, meetings, trainings as required at district, and regional level, or as required by Project manager
Supports the project manager to manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

Promote Gender-Responsive Economic Empowerment (35%)

Ensure that economic empowerment initiatives are designed and implemented in a gender-responsive manner.
Provide essential technical support, including the creation of terms of reference, activity completion reports, and action plans that operationalize economic empowerment initiatives within the projects.
Lead capacity gap analyses and facilitate the strengthening of implementing partners’ capacities. Conduct stakeholder meetings, training sessions, market information dissemination, and aid in the development of business plans for youth.
Supervise local market assessments and ensure follow-up on community action plans. Offer technical guidance to project staff, partners, and the community throughout project implementation. Provide comprehensive feedback and reports to Project partners and the supervisor and WVC technical team.

Capacity gap of project staff, partners, stakeholders and CBOs identified and worked out towards enhanced capacity of actors
Program activities respond to results of gender-responsive market assessment

Ensure Quality Economic Development Technical Program Delivery(15%)

Project team and stakeholders towards empowering women and girls economically
Technical resources developed to support Youth Ready and WVT in livelihoods programming for adolescents and youth
Increased employability and entrepreneurial skills among targeted marginalized adolescent girls, boys and young women’s

Networking and external engagement (10%)

Support the Project Manager to strengthen relationships with government, district teams, within the education, health sectors and community while implementing project activities
Build positive work relationship with project collaborators; maintaining unity and trust
Participate in regional level meetings and engagements in consultation with and feedback to the Project Manager

End Results

External engagement maximized for visibility of the project and organization
Project represented in all platform that exhibit the themes of the project such as conferences, symposium etc

Required Professional Experience

Solid experience in implementing international donor funded projects and ability to coordinate day to day implementation of project activities.
Track record of supervising staff
At least five years’ experience in implementing Economic Strengthening projects
Demonstrated experience in a Project Management role and use of project management cycle in the delivery of development projects is required.
Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams is an advantage.
Experience in delivering technical assistance and/or institutional capacity building is an asset
Familiar with current Advocacy issues around adolescents, youth on economic empowerment and positive youth development and working with adolescents & youths is a MUST
Experience in urban programs is an advantage.
Must have caliber in soft skills training for positive youth development
Must have a clear understanding of major donors’ perspectives, requirements and standards
Must have proven analytical/ problem solving abilities
Experiences in excel management
Verifiable proven research experience in economic value chain, finance inclusion & marketing

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, economics, social work or any other related field
Training and development in financial inclusion, marketing, business development, civic engagement, employability skills and personal development skills.
Training in publication & developing story

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

Excellent communication skills; Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders,
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent coordination and planning skills
Report writing skills: Ability to write complex reports
Demonstrate high levels of integrity
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent team player with minimum supervision
Significant experience of working with government officials, multiple partners, community groups and communities.
Proven experience in facilitating effective project documentation and dissemination of results to a wide range of audiences.
Experience in working with international donor funded grants
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff
Good planning and Excellent organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail a must
Work in a multisectoral/ multicultural team- patience, cultural sensitivity and application of contextual understanding in day-to-day work
High-level of knowledge and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. required
Ability to work with tight deadlines for information needs
