Job Title: Sales Office Intern 

Location: Mbezi Beach, Makonde, Dar es Salaam 

Reporting To: HR Manager 

Internship Duration: 3 – 6 Months

Position Purpose 

The Sales Representative Intern will support the Sales & Business Development team in  expanding market reach, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to revenue  growth initiatives. 

This role provides practical exposure to: 

  • Client acquisition strategies 
  • Sales pipeline management 
  • Customer relationship management 
  • Negotiation processes 
  • Market intelligence gathering 

The intern will operate under supervision while progressively building professional sales  competencies. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

Business Development Support 

  • Assist in identifying and profiling prospective clients and business opportunities
  • Support market mapping and segmentation activities 
  • Participate in client visits and sales meetings 
  • Contribute to preparation of quotations and proposals 

Sales Operations & Lead Management 

  • Assist in tracking and managing sales leads from various channels 
  • Conduct structured follow-ups under guidance 
  • Maintain accurate customer data and update sales records 
  • Support preparation of weekly and monthly sales performance reports

Client Relationship Support

  • Support after-sales communication and customer satisfaction follow-ups
  • Assist in resolving basic customer concerns through coordination with internal teams
  • Observe and learn structured negotiation techniques 

Market Intelligence & Reporting 

  • Collect and analyze competitor information 
  • Support basic market trend analysis 
  • Prepare simple analytical summaries for management review 

Professional Conduct 

  • Represent LUMAC Tanzania professionally in all interactions 
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information 

Learning & Development Outcomes 

By the end of the internship, the candidate should demonstrate: 

  • Understanding of full sales cycle management 
  • Basic negotiation and persuasion techniques 
  • Knowledge of sales reporting and pipeline tracking 
  • Improved professional communication and presentation skills

Qualifications & Eligibility 

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (or ongoing studies) in Sales, Marketing, Business  Administration, or related field 
  • Strong interest in business development and sales 
  • Basic understanding of customer service principles 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • High level of integrity and professional conduct
