BRAC Tanzania Finance Limited (BTFL) is the largest microfinance institution in Tanzania. Position Objective
The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure design, installation, and operation of IT infrastructure across all BTFL data centers (physical and cloud), the Head Office, and branch offices. The position also leads cybersecurity initiatives and disaster recovery readiness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Architecture
- Design, build, and deploy systems architecture in collaboration with IT teams and service partners.
- Provide expert infrastructure support for all IT project implementations.
- Lead systems architecture planning, ensuring alignment with change management and ITIL-compliant processes.
- Maintain accurate asset and licensing inventories.
Service Performance
- Monitor IT service partner performance and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Contribute to the achievement of IT strategic objectives and support development of effective technology solutions.
Cybersecurity & Disaster Recovery
- Develop and maintain a cybersecurity monitoring strategy supported by appropriate tools.
- Ensure effective backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for all branches.
- Protect cloud and on-premises data centers using leading security, storage, and recovery techniques.
- Comply with internal audit, regulatory, and cybersecurity standards, while continually improving system controls.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and respectful working environment free from harm, harassment, and exploitation.
- Serve as a support resource in safeguarding matters and promote adherence to safeguarding policies.
- Follow and encourage reporting of incidents in alignment with safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience managing technical infrastructure services.
- ITIL certification and a recognized cybersecurity certification.
- Proven leadership, strategic planning capability, and experience in:
- Disaster recovery system design and planning
- Enterprise systems monitoring and management tools
- Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO) SIEM, EDR/XDR, and vulnerability scanning
- Firewall and web application configuration/monitoring (Fortigate)
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Commitment to the mission and values of BRAC International.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with applications and database technologies.
- Knowledge in change management and project management.
- Experience with infrastructure platforms (Unix, Windows, databases, storage, middleware, capacity management).
- Strong networking and communications proficiency.
