Role overview
Reporting To: Head of Program Implementation (Country Level) / Senior Program Manager (Regional Level).
Key responsibilities
- The Program Coordinator works closely with national and regional leadership, District Heads, government institutions, and partner communities to coordinate and monitor programmatic execution.
- About Raising The Village (RTV).
- Operational & Administrative Support: Support recruitment and onboarding for new program staff; assist in facilitating RTV programmatic workshops, learning reviews, and ToT cascades.
- Duty Station: Bukoba, Kagera Region, Tanzania (Temporary base; position will relocate in a couple of months).
- Program Planning & Implementation: Review work plans and weekly progress reports; monitor project timeline adherence; identify field risks and recommending mitigation measures.
- Position Overview.
- Data & Progress Reporting: Track program performance metrics; synthesize weekly summary updates for the Senior Program Manager; review and edit district-level field reports ahead of final submission.
- RTV launched its Tanzania operations in 2026 to scale poverty graduation models with a strong focus on market systems and commercialization in collaboration with government stakeholders.
- Activities align with RTV's technical standards and organizational priorities.. This as well covers the role combines field-level project management, data-driven progress tracking, risk mitigation, and operational support.
- Financial & Budget Monitoring: Review financial reports; assist District Heads with budget tracking and donor compliance.
- Field Travel: 80%.

- Key Duties & Responsibilities.
- Field Coordination & Oversight: Participate in weekly field management meetings (in-person and remote); perform frequent field visits; assist with scheduling and hosting donor or partner field visits.
- Operating in Uganda, Rwanda, DRC, and Tanzania, RTV partners with remote rural communities to implement data-driven, sustainable poverty graduation programs.
Requirements
- Field Capabilities: Ability to travel up to 80% of the time across RTV districts of operation; ability to ride a motorbike in high-terrain rural environments is considered an asset.
- Technical & Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word); strong data-handling, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Languages: complete fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili. Proficiency in local dialects spoken in the Kagera region (Kinyambo or Kihaya) is an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional experience in project management, budgeting, and project design inside international development or community programs.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Development Studies, Project Planning & Management, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field. (A Master's degree or Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning & Management is a useful extra).
