  • Operating in Uganda, Rwanda, DRC, and Tanzania, RTV partners with remote, rural communities to implement data-driven, sustainable development solutions that increase household incomes and improve living standards.
  • Field Travel: 80%-90%.
  • Key Duties & Responsibilities.
  • Languages Required: Kiswahili, Kinyambo, and Kihaya.
  • Reports To: Project Officer.
  • Reporting to the Project Officer, the Project Assistant is responsible for day-to-day, grassroots implementation of RTV methodologies inside assigned partner villages.
  • Position Overview.
  • Reporting & Administration: Develop work plans; submit weekly field activity reports; prepare weekly financial requests and reconciliations for the Senior Project Officer; capture field photos for data repositories; participate in weekly staff and cluster meetings.
  • Project Implementation: Conduct project design review meetings with village partners; co-facilitate community trainings in financial literacy, VSLA, agriculture, livestock management, and WASH; verify inputs ahead of distribution; provide ongoing support to households and community groups.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Gather field-level feedback and recommendations to refine project methodologies; identify implementation risks and suggest actionable solutions to improve program sustainability.
  • Project compliance, active community participation, and long-term sustainability.. This as well covers the role involves leading community-level trainings, verifying input distributions, conducting household follow-ups, and collaborating with local leaders.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in community development, project facilitation, or grassroots field implementation.
  • Field Requirements: Energetic and physically fit to hike high-terrain rural areas; willing to travel up to 90% of the time inside assigned wards.
  • Languages: Fluency in Kiswahili and local dialects (Kinyambo and Kihaya) is required. Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
