Key responsibilities

  • Position Overview.
  • Field Travel: 80%.
  • Project Management: Ensure alignment between RTV work plans and local government execution; perform at least three (3) field visits per week; escalate field issues to the Project Manager.
  • The Project Officer focuses on strengthening government extension capacity, maintaining technical quality, and managing field execution.
  • Raising The Village is an international development organization focused on eliminating ultra-poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Working closely with district technical teams, local officials, and Project Assistants, the role ensures that project activities align with approved designs, work plans, MoUs, and technical standards.
  • The Project Officer supports the implementation, performance management, and field coordination of RTV programs in Tanzania.
  • Operating in Uganda, Rwanda, DRC, and Tanzania, RTV leverages community-driven initiatives and advanced data analytics to uplift rural households toward economic self-reliance.
  • Reporting & Learning: Review field activity reports and action plans; track implementation risks; contribute to weekly, monthly, and donor reports; document field insights for adaptive management.
  • Government-Led Oversight: Collaborate with district, ward, and village technical teams to execute RTV-aligned coaching and training; verify adherence to technical standards; operationalize district/ward MoUs.
  • Administration & Compliance: Oversee leave and field movements for assigned teams; enforce compliance with RTV policies, safeguarding frameworks, and ethical codes of conduct.
  • Reports To: Project Manager.

  • Supervision & Team Coaching: Lead weekly cluster review meetings; provide structured feedback and day-to-day guidance to Project Assistants and government extension workers; support performance evaluations and refresher trainings.
