Job Description
Our client is seeking a proactive and creative Public Relations and Communication Officer to lead all internal and external communications, brand visibility, and community engagement initiatives. The position requires a skilled communicator with practical experience in photography, videography including drone, and digital content creation to effectively showcase company’s commercial operations, partnerships, and social responsibility activities within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Public Relations and Communications
- Develop and implement company’s communication strategy aligned with company goals and values.
- This includes a content plan for all areas of priority.
- Prepare press releases, newsletters, speeches, and official company statements.
- Manage media relations — draft and distribute media briefs, coordinate interviews, and maintain a
- strong relationship with journalists and media outlets.
2. Corporate Branding and Visibility
- Update company’s social media pages, website, and other communication channels.
- Develop engaging content (posts, stories, photos, and videos) that highlight company’s activities, products, and impact.
- Design promotional materials, brochures, banners, and digital content to strengthen company’s brand image.
- Coordinate participation in exhibitions, field days, and other public events.
- Manage company social media accounts and Websites.
3. Photography, Videography, and Documentation
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of farm operations, corporate events, and community activities.
- Operate drones for aerial photography and video production.
- Produce short documentaries and visual stories showcasing company’s agricultural activities and social responsibility projects.
- Manage the company’s digital media library and ensure proper archiving of all visual content.4.
4. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and communicate company’s CSR initiatives within the surrounding community undertaken by our Training organization.
- Develop reports and success stories on community projects and partnerships.
- Foster positive relations with local leaders, stakeholders, and community members.
5. Reporting and Administration
- Prepare monthly communication reports (monthly newsletter to all stakeholders), including media coverage, public engagement metrics, and CSR outcomes.
- Manage communication budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Support management with presentation materials and documentation for partners and stakeholders.
- Always have Power point presentations available and brochures for target groups.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma/ Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media production.
- Proven experience in photography, videography, and drone operation.
- Proficiency in photo/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Canva) is an added advantage.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of the agriculture or agribusiness sector will be an added advantage.
- The person must be qualified to communicate with key people in the Commercial Farm and training organizations, as well as the chairperson for the same to be productive and always ahead of the different situations.
