Role overview
This Area Supervisor vacancy covers driving sales performance, expanding and managing retail partners (shops), and ensuring effective stock control and repayment follow-up within the assigned territory.
The role requires strong field presence, leadership, and the ability to support shops in achieving sales targets while maintaining compliance with operational and credit policies.
Key responsibilities
- Train shop personnel on product knowledge, pricing, and sales processes.
- Providing ongoing supervision and performance feedback.
- Supporting shops in achieving assigned sales targets via coaching and field engagement.
- Preparing and submit routine performance reports covering sales, stock, and repayment status.
- Making sure proper storage and accountability of products.
- Spend significant time in the field monitoring sales and operational activities.
- Promote products inside assigned areas and identify new growth opportunities.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage retail shops/partners to sell products on the two cash and credit terms.
- Identify and report cases of fraud, stock misuse, or non-compliance.
- Escalate operational risks, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate records of repayments and outstanding balances.
- Monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and implement corrective measures where necessary.
- Supporting internal audits and operational reviews when required.
- Identify delinquent accounts early and coordinate recovery efforts.
- Building and maintain strong relationships with shop owners and staff.
- Carrying out periodic stock counts and verify inventory accuracy.
- Follow up on customer repayments to minimize defaults and arrears.
- Making sure every sales and credit processes comply with company policies.
- Monitoring stock levels at the shop level and ensure replenishment.
- Supporting shops in managing customers' purchases on credit.
- Making sure adherence to company branding, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Stock availability and inventory accuracy.
- Timeliness and accuracy of reporting.
- Sales performance (cash and credit).
- At least 1-2 years of experience in sales supervision, retail management, microfinance, or distribution.
- Number of active and productive shops.
- Willingness to work extensively in the field.
- High integrity and accountability.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Repayment rate and portfolio quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Might require extended working hours to meet operational demands.
- Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to manage and motivate retail partners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Field-based role with frequent travel inside assigned regions.
- Experience in credit sales or consumer financing is a useful extra.
- Good understanding of stock and credit management.
