The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit High Voltage Electrician to join and grow our team at North Mara Gold Mine, Engineering Gold Plant Electrical.

- Making sure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures for safe work, daily when performing Lock-Out, Tag-Out, Try-Out (LOTOTO).
- High-voltage substations and distribution systems.

- Preventive and predictive maintenance of HV equipment.

- Experience working with electrical equipment in: Process Plants Water Treatment Plants (WTP) Filtration Plants Brine Plants Electrical substations HV/LV switchgear systems VSD and Soft starter Generators and RMU.
- Carrying out HV electrical devices installation and wiring.
- Cultivating strong and meaningful Partnerships.
- HV cable systems, termination, testing, and fault finding.
- Certificate on HV switching and operation.
- Experience and knowledge of overhead and underground transmission line.
- Making sure every work is performed in accordance with approved safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
- HV switching and isolation procedures.
- Busbars, isolators/disconnectors, earthing switches, and circuit breaker.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance, inspection, and switching records.

- Use Interpret OEM Manuals for maintaining and repairing required equipment accurately and to OEM Specifications and avoid discrepancies.
- Electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Making sure daily assigned Electrical tasks are implemented effectively and efficiently; and are completed to required standards.
- Making sure inspection of Measuring/ Testing Instruments is conducted daily ahead of use, and Calibrations are performed to OEM schedule or when required.
- Safe switching techniques and electrical switching programs.
- RMU switching and installation.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams so that reliable plant power supply.
- Accurately install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot fault on three phase motor starters.
- Ability to prepared and interpret electrical SLD and OEM Manual.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a mining environment.
- Electrical fault finding, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance.
- Proven experience working in mining, process plants, or heavy industrial environments.
- Protection systems, relays, and electrical control circuits eg SEPAM relays, SEL.
- Experience working with electrical equipment in.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial control systems using root-cause problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Carrying out transformer installation and maintenance effectively.
- Knowledge of PLC and SCADA system.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Supporting planned shutdowns, commissioning, testing, and energization of electrical equipment.
- Compliance with electrical safety procedures, mine safety standards, and statutory requirements.

- Making sure every required power tools and hand tools are inspected and maintained daily.
- Making sure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to every Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Policies, as well as remaining policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Taking part in electrical emergency response and troubleshooting activities.
- Install, repair and trace faults on variable speed drives.
- HV switchgear, covering vacuum circuit breakers (VCB) and SF₆ circuit breakers,.
- High level of attention to detail and compliance with procedures.
- Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on HV equipment.
