Position Overview

The Manager: Digital Lending will lead the end-to-end development, commercial growth, and portfolio management of NBC’s digital credit offerings—including salary advances, instant personal loans, and embedded fintech lending partnerships. This strategic role focuses on expanding data-driven credit delivery, driving automated lending adoption, optimizing portfolio quality, and accelerating revenue growth across mobile banking, USSD, internet banking, and partner API channels.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Lending Strategy & Portfolio Growth (30%): Formulate and execute the digital credit growth roadmap. Drive loan disbursements, interest income, and fee-based revenue across mobile, USSD, and embedded partner platforms.
Sales Execution & Customer Journey Optimization (25%): Execute structured digital lending campaigns for salary advances and instant loans. Streamline digital application funnels to achieve instant or near-instant time-to-disbursement.
Fintech Partnerships & Embedded Lending (20%): Build and scale strategic commercial partnerships with mobile money operators, payroll providers, aggregators, and fintechs. Lead the implementation of API-based, co-lending, and white-label credit models.
Credit Risk Management & Automation (15%): Partner with Credit Risk to refine credit scoring algorithms and automated underwriting models. Monitor Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) while using behavioral and transactional data to optimize decisioning.
Customer Experience & Operational Excellence (10%): Remove friction from digital onboarding and disbursement touchpoints. Ensure high system uptime, operational stability, and swift resolution of partner or client escalations.

Candidate Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
Professional Experience: 5 to 8+ years of proven experience within banking, fintech, or digital financial services.
Domain Expertise: Demonstrated track record in consumer credit, digital loan product management, mobile money lending ecosystems, and credit scoring models.
Partnership Capability: Hands-on experience integrating with telcos, aggregators, and API-driven fintech platforms is highly desirable.
Core Competencies: Commercial acumen, customer service excellence, digital fluency, sales leadership, and strong stakeholder management.
