Position: System Analyst– Information Technology

Location: Dar es Salaam

Reports to: IT Manager

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for the role of System Analyst– Information Technology, Jubilee Health Insurance, Tanzania. The position reports administratively and technically to the IT Manager.

Role Purpose

The analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing application solutions to solve business problems and make business operations more efficient. The individual will design, develop, test, and debug new functionality, enhancements, customizations, interfaces, batch processes, queries, and reports. The role will also ensure operational efficiency, maintain regulatory and audit compliance, and perform other duties allocated by the business.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide functional and technical support for Jubilee Health Systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user issues by analyzing application problems, identifying root causes, and providing timely solutions.
• Manage service requests (SRs) with System Vendor Support, ensuring issues are logged, tracked, and resolved within agreed timelines.
• Perform application setups, configurations, and maintenance for supported modules based on business requirements.
• Develop and execute SQL queries/scripts for data extraction, issue diagnosis, and reporting support.
• Coordinate with business users and technical teams (DBA/Developers) for enhancements, patches, and system upgrades.
• Test and validate patches, enhancements, and customizations before deployment to production.
• Prepare and maintain functional and technical documentation, including process flows, issue logs, and knowledge base articles.
• Ensure adherence to IT policies, SLAs, and change management procedures while delivering application support services.
• Provide functional and technical support for integrations around Oracle E-Business Suite.
• Coordinate with project management team and other stakeholders to implement and deliver system modules as per business requirements

Functional Skills

• Interface & Data Management Skills – Strong knowledge of Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes using SQL, T-SQL. 
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability – Skilled in diagnosing application issues, performing root-cause analysis, and providing effective, timely resolutions to user and system problems.
• Technical Proficiency in SQL & Reporting – Experienced in developing and executing SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, reconciliation, and issue investigation.
• System Maintenance & Change Management – Competent in testing, validating, and implementing patches, enhancements, and upgrades while adhering to IT policies, SLAs, and change control procedures.
• Collaboration & Communication Skills – Effective in coordinating with business users, Vendor Support, and technical teams, and in maintaining detailed functional and technical documentation for knowledge sharing and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, unit test, and deploy .NET applications and MSSQL database. 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized University.
• 3+ years’ hands-on experience in technology and business fields in supporting Business Core Applications.
• Expert in using tools such as TOAD, SQL Navigator & SQL Plus.
• Experience in query optimization, performance, and tuning (SQL and T-SQL).
• Programming knowledge is an added advantage for the role.
