Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Corporate Communication Officer to join and grow our team. The purpose is to manage corporate branding and media messaging, ensuring consistency with Barrick’s global standards and safeguarding the company’s corporate identity and brand standards across all communication channels. Also to effectively implement and adapt Barrick’s internal communication strategy at the country level, ensuring alignment with the Group Internal Communications strategy. Foster a positive organizational culture, promote employee engagement, and ensure clear and consistent communication across Barrick Tanzania operations, in alignment with Barrick’s DNA and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Embody, promote and embed the Barrick DNA across all communications.

Effectively execute Barrick’s Internal Communications Strategy.

Own, manage and utilize the In-Reach Program in Tanzania to deliver timely and consistent information to the workforce through various approved communications channels.

Drive the DNA awareness strategy and plan across all levels of the organization in Tanzania, through the In-Reach program.

Support and implement AME and Global initiatives ensuring effective and consistent dissemination of key corporate messages, standards, and guidelines.

Collaborate with Country Leadership and Corporate Communications to develop and execute a corporate country communication strategy, plan and engagement content.

In collaboration with Corporate Communications manage the branding of all industry events, exhibitions, forums and media briefings ensuring alignment with Barrick’s corporate identity and branding standards.

Preparing and delivering written communications, reports and social media updates, to employees and other stakeholders as directed by the Manager.

Oversee digital communication platforms, ensuring they support both internal and external communications goals

Create content for internal communication platforms, social media, and external platforms as required, in alignment with Barrick’s overall corporate communication strategy.

Collaborate with operational HR and CSR teams to implement internal initiatives, campaigns, and engagement activities.

Ensure Barrick’s key messages and achievements are effectively communicated to all staff through various channels.

Maintain Barrick’s corporate identity, brand, and image across all communication efforts (internal and external).

Capture and share compelling stories and other internal communications initiatives to support AME and Global strategies, such as Journey to Zero

Ensure compliance with Barrick policies and reporting requirements

Provide internal communications support to other AME operations as needed, ensuring alignment with Barrick’s global strategies and brand protection efforts.

Provide support with exhibitions, conferences, and other public-facing events, ensuring consistent branding and communication efforts.

Assist with the development and implementation of advertising campaigns to promote Barrick’s image, achievements, and community involvement.

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.

Proven experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or related roles, with a track record of success in developing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns.

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages tailored to different audiences and communication channels.

Strong storytelling ability, with the creativity and imagination to translate complex concepts and information into engaging narratives and content.

Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, email marketing software, and analytics tools.

Knowledge of media relations practices, including pitching, press release writing, and media monitoring, with a network of media contacts and relationships.

Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations, anticipate challenges, and develop effective communication strategies and solutions.

Collaboration and teamwork abilities, with experience working cross-functionally and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing priorities, crises, and opportunities, with a calm and professional demeanor under pressure

Experience and Skills Requirements:

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Corporate Communications or Journalism.

Knowledge and experience of Graphic Design programs and Digital Media Management.

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skill
