Role Purpose & Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Human Resources will lead the human resources function for the subsidiary, driving the strategic development and operational execution of FINCA’s HR vision. The incumbent acts as a Strategic Partner, Change Agent, and Employee Advocate to align talent management, performance frameworks, and organizational culture with both local regulatory requirements and global FINCA Impact Finance standards.

HR Strategy & Executive Partnership: Formulate HR operational strategies, advise executive leadership, and implement policies across talent acquisition, succession planning, and organizational design.

Performance & Compensation Management: Oversee performance evaluation cycles, establish PIP protocols, and design variable pay, merit increases, and bonus programs.

Compliance & Policy Governance: Ensure strict adherence to Tanzanian labor laws, maintain updated HR policies/JDs, oversee payroll compliance, and manage audits/regulatory reporting.

HR Operations & HRIS: Maintain employee record integrity within HRIS systems and deliver analytical reporting to the local Management Board, Board of Directors, and Global HR Office.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field.

A postgraduate qualification (e.g., Master of Business Administration – MBA) is highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within large international organizations in the financial or hospitality sectors.

Must possess at least 5 years of dedicated managerial/leadership experience.

Key Competencies & Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and employment regulations.

Demonstrated expertise in managing compensation, benefits, payroll tax procedures, and labor relations.

Strong proficiency with HRIS software systems and MS Office Suite.

High emotional intelligence, cross-cultural sensitivity, diplomacy, and discreet judgment.

Languages: Excellent fluency in written and spoken English.
