Role overview
The Project Manager plans, directs, and oversees catering and facility management operations.
This role ensures high-quality service delivery, achievement of financial targets, strict contract compliance, and strong client relationships while driving operational improvements and business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison for clients, hold routine review meetings, resolve concerns promptly, and maintain strong client partnerships.
- Compliance & Health/Safety: Maintain HACCP, sanitation, and food safety standards; conduct safety risk assessments; and enforce statutory and internal quality regulations.
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and evaluate site staff, oversee recruitment and training with HR, and foster a productive, high-performing team environment.
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage operational budgets, control food and labor costs, review financial performance reports, and identify revenue expansion opportunities.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Direct inventory control for food, cleaning materials, and operational supplies to prevent loss and minimize waste.
- Reports To: General Manager.
- Business Development: Support strategic growth initiatives, contribute to tender preparations, and manage new contract mobilizations.
- Reporting & Administration: Monitor operational KPIs, maintain accurate documentation, and generate routine financial and management performance reports.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day catering and facility operations, conduct routine site audits, ensure optimal staffing, and maintain company service standards.
Requirements
- Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/operational management systems.
- Client relationship and contract management.
- Clear communication and negotiation skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Catering Management, or a related field.
- Financial acumen and budget control.
- Leadership and team management.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in catering, hospitality, facilities management, or camp management. (Experience in remote camps or mining sites is a strong advantage.).
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Technical skills: Strong understanding of project coordination, budget planning, cost control, HACCP, and health & safety standards.
