Job Overview

Sure Steps School is seeking a qualified and dedicated Primary Teacher to join its teaching team in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting young learners, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and contributing to the continued improvement of the school.

Responsibilities

The Primary Teacher will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons according to the school curriculum.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records.
  • Encourage students’ confidence, creativity, good behavior, and love for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, parents, and school management.
  • Participate in school activities.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of the school.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Primary Education or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ primary school teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a private school environment will be an added advantage.
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and child-friendly lessons.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and teamwork.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The preferred candidate should be:

  • A Tanzanian citizen.
  • Passionate about teaching and nurturing young students.
  • Patient, responsible, hardworking, and dependable.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili.
  • Familiar with the Tanzanian education environment.
